Man City v Bayern Munich Betting Preview Things are likely to finish as they stand heading into this one. Bayern are on top of the group and City are in second, both having already qualified with relative ease. If the Premier League side though were to turn up and win by a three goal margin on more, they would top the group and be one of the seeded teams for the next round. It’s a pretty unlikely scenario though.
Man City v Bayern Munich Betting Tips:
The Premier League side have booked their spot in the next round and the goals have been flowing for them this time, averaging three per game so far (the same amount as Bayern). However, the difference between the two sides is that Bayern have conceded only two goals so far, whereas City have let in a lot of sloppy goals from strong positions. The straight forward starting place for this one therefore, is going to be going Over 2.5 goals for a price of 1/2. When they came together at the Etihad, where City were shown up badly, Bayern ran out 3-1 winners. City don’t have a great record in Germany really, the last time they were there they lost 1-0 against Dortmund, and that is part of a W1 D1 L4 record over there. The last time they played in Munich, Bayern won 2-0 in the 2011/12 group stage. Still, regardless of what happens on Tuesday, this has been City’s best performance on the road in their four group stage campaigns so far, having won on their travels to Plzen and CSKA Moscow.

City do have some forwards in form, starting with the red hot Sergio Aguero who is trading at 2/1 in the Anytime Market. Normally he’d be the top call in the First Goalscorer market, but not here away from home with all the forward talent that Bayern have. Alvaro Negredo is an option in the anytime market too, as he has scored goals in five Champions League appearances for City. Wouldn’t entertain the idea of City keeping a clean sheet, they don’t have the defence for that, so you may look at Both Teams To Score at odds of 4/6. Bayern have goals in them and they hammered seven past Bremen in the Bundesliga over the weekend just to prove that. They are an immense for, having won their last nine Champions League matches in a row, and having won 14 of their last 16 on home turf. At home against English sides, Bayern’s record reads W10 D5 L2 and the last time they hosted a side from the Premier League was Arsenal in last season’s round of 16 at lost 2-0.
Bayern boss Pep Guardiola has never lost against Manuel Pellegrini either. Chilean Pellegrini in all his time with Villarreal, Real Madrid and Malaga couldn’t get the better of Guardiola. Just to show the influence of Guardiola more, he faced English sides nine times during his time at Barcelona and never lost. There are big attacking options for Bayern and in the First Goalscorer market, Mario Mandzukic is trading as 3/1 favourite, with the likes of Thomas Muller, Franck Ribery, Mario Gotze and Claudio Pizarro at 4/1. Bayern have the best defensive record in the competition so far this term, having conceded just two, and they are at 2/1 To Win To Nil. Guardiola’s troops can afford to lose by a two goal margin and still top the group.
Prediction
Should be an entertaining match with goals in it. City aren’t likely to get close to their market of a three goal winning margin needed to top the group, so would look for Both Teams To Score option at a price of 4/6.
